About Cte
CTE is a federal and state-designated community action agency for the Stamford, Greenwich and Darien communities in Connecticut. The agency offers a wide range of services and advocacy to increase self-sufficiency for low-income individuals, families, and communities, giving them the ability to rise out of poverty. Its Stamford Alternative Incarceration Center provides supervision and services to accused and court-sentenced individuals of age 16 and above. Its employment and training programs helps all individuals reach self-sufficiency by preparing them to find jobs. Its community employment incentive program is a case management and referral program funded by the Department of Labor for single individuals who receive cash assistance, food stamps and medical assistance. Its family services department serves more than 5,000 customers each year, providing self-sufficiency planning, financial literacy classes, energy assistance, housing, counseling, trilingual and translation services and crisis counseling. CTE is located in Stamford.
